Three young women will be honored at Mother's Day Fashion Show event on May 11 by West Linn Chamber. Nominations are now open.

For The Review

The West Linn Chamber of Commerce will present three Spirit of Philanthropy awards at its upcoming Women Who Mean Business Mother's Day Fashion Show and Dinner.

The event is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. on May 11 at the Oregon Golf Club.

The intent of the Spirit of Philanthropy award is to publicly recognize young women who exemplify philanthropy through their contributions of time and effort. Formal praise of those who demonstrate extraordinary leadership and vision in support of their goals not only confirms their efforts, the chamber says, but also inspires others in West Linn to become more involved in the community.

The Spirit of Philanthropy award is an opportunity to recognize young women who give back to their community, their country and the world. For that reason, the chamber asks that citizens nominate someone they feel is deserving of this important acknowledgement.

Nominations should include a paragraph describing why a young woman should be considered for this award; email the nominations to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. by May 1.

If selected, recipients will receive two complimentary tickets to the Mother's Day Fashion Show, be publicly recognized and given a

certificate of honor at the event.

To be eligible for the award, nominees must be a West Linn resident, 18 years of age or younger. The nominee must be able to attend the May 11 event, and the nomination must come from someone on the young woman's behalf.

The Women Who Mean Business Mother's Day Fashion Show and Dinner will feature an Italian buffet dinner, followed by a fashion show of women's apparel from local businesses and designers. Guest speaker will be Amy W. Stoeber, Ph.D., LLC, who will lay out significant factors that lead to healthy mother-daughter relationships. She will discuss ways to create meaningful connections between mothers and daughters, trials and tribulations of the relationships and the importance of same-gender relationships. Tickets will be available for purchase starting April 16 through the chamber office at 503-655-6744 or by emailing This email address is being protected from spambots.
