Mary's Woods will open the fifth season of the Music in the Woods concert series Jan. 21.

The series is a unique musical experience featuring an array of musical artists both familiar and new.

All concerts take place at 2 p.m. Sunday afternoons in the historical Chapel of the Holy Names on the Mary's Woods campus, 17400 Holy Names Drive in Lake Oswego.

Audience members are invited to arrive early to enjoy the ambiance of Mary's Woods, and take advantage of the free valet parking. After the concerts guests are invited to attend a reception and meet the musicians.

The series includes these performances:

Jan. 21 — A Mighty Wind featuring The Chameleon Winds led by flutist Abby Mages. This concert includes music for every wind instrument in the orchestra, plus solos, duets and five musicians at a time.

Feb. 11 — Cellato featuring Portland cellist Justin Kagan. Kagan has performed in the Music in the Woods series since it began. This time he brings with him cellist friends for a cello-overwhelm, both wild and suave.

March 18 — The Ensemble, Oregon's acclaimed vocal chamber group led by Patrick McDonough will present a program of grandeur and gracefulness, solace and exultation.

April 15 — 20 Fingers and Sweet Songs of Love will be presented by soprano Lisa Mooyman and Portland renowned pianist Janet Coleman. These women will share collaborative music for a concert of many combinations including Brahm's Love Song, which takes four singers and two pianists to play.

May 20 — Around the World in 88 Keys — Portland pianist Rosa Li has been perfecting her repertory of music at Indiana University and the Julliard School in New York. Returning to her hometown she will provide a virtuoso ride through music from the very familiar to some as new as spring flowers in China.

June 10 — Back by popular demand is MJ Quartet, featuring pianist Darrell Grant and colleagues.

Tickets for all concerts in the series are $150; individual tickets are $25 for adults and $10 for youth if purchased online at Tickets purchased at the door are $30 for adults and $10 for youth.
