For The Review, Tidings

Summer brings music to area parks, hosted by Lake Oswego Parks and Rec, West Linn Parks and Rec and Wilsonville Rotary. Here's the run down of what is playing this week:

Lake Oswego Parks and Rec offers two concert series this summer. The concerts are free and open to all; bring a picnic and the whole family. Pets are allowed on leashes only.

Moonlight & Music

Sunday, July 15 — Lisa Mann and her Really Good Band is the featured act for Sunday's Moonlight & Music concert, taking place at Millennium Plaza Park, 200 First St., Lake Oswego from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Mann has been awarded the prestigious 2016 Blues Music Award for her skills on bass guitar, an award which she also took home in 2015. Her first award win fell hot on the heels of receiving the Blues Blast's Sean Costello Rising Star Award, as well as three Muddy Waters Awards from the Cascade Blues Association: Contemporary Blues Act of the Year, Bass Player of the Year and Northwest Recording of the Year. Originally from West Virginia, Mann's vocals effortlessly straddle the line between the honey sweet warmth of the South, and the force-of-nature sound she has cultivated by mastering everything from hard rock to rhythm and blues.

Food — On A Whim Catering provides box lunches and beverages for purchase; attendees can also bring their own food and beverages. Alcohol is permitted. Parking is available at Lakeview Village shopping center, The Windward and in the neighborhood where marked.

Sounds of Summer

Kalimba The Spirit of Earth Wind and Fire will play July 18 at Foothills Park in Lake Oswego.

Wednesday, July 18 — Enjoy Kalimba, The Spirit of Earth Wind and Fire at Foothills Park, 199 Foothills Drive, Lake Oswego from 7 to 9 p.m. Kalimba is considered "The Best" Earth Wind and Fire Tribute Band. Bring your own picnic or purchase foods from Montiel's Mexican Food, Maiale de Volo Wood Fired Catering and La Creperie le Bon Temps.

West Linn's Music in the Parks — The series of concerts take place at Tanner Creek Park, 3456 Parker Road, beginning Thursday, July 26 with Remedy Band. Remedy is a five-piece high energy rock performance dance band playing the best dance tunes of the 1970s, '80s and '90s. Admission is free. Food will be available each week from Le Sen (Vietnamese cuisine, salad rolls and grilled skewers); Right Bayou Cajun Cookin' (New Orleans-style sausages and jambalaya); Spectator Pizza; Kettle Korn and Sharkbait Hawaiin Shaved Ice. Debby Hennessy of Hasson Company will also offer wine sampling.

Wilsonville Rotary — The club will present its concert series beginning July 19 at Town Center Park, 29230 S.W. Parkway Court, Wilsonville. First act up is Johnny Limbo and the Lugnuts. Opening acts begin at 5:30 p.m., followed by headliners at 6:30 p.m. Concerts are free; shuttle service is availble. Visit to learn more.

Movies in the Park

West Linn's Movies in the Park films will feature "Coco" at Hammerle Park, 1505 Lewis St. July 13. Films begin at dusk, approximately 8:30 p.m. Free.

Lake Oswego's Movies in the Park series begins July 19 with a screening of "The Secret Life of Pets" at dusk, between 8:30 and 9 p.m., at Millennium Plaza Park, 200 First St.
