Stumptown Stages premiering
"A Christmas Carol the Musical"
Broadway heavy hitters Alan Menken and Lynn Ahrens have breathed new life into the classic tale of "A Christmas Carol" for Stumptown Stage's Portland premiere of the holiday classic. West Linn Community Chorus to present concerts
West Linn Community Chorus will present A Time for Peace featuring familiar holiday favorite songs along with newer choral works sure to bring a sense of warmth, calm and comfort this winter. The concert will be presented at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 7 and at 3 p.m. Dec. 8 at Christ Church Episcopal Parish, 1060 Chandler Road, Lake Oswego. Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for seniors 60 and over and $5 for students. Children age 5 and under are admitted free of charge.
The chorus provides an opportunity for singers of all levels from West Linn and surrounding areas to experience and share the joy of music with the community.

Harrison to present "A Bootlegger's Son"
Brian Harrison will present "A Bootlegger's Son," an American folk rock story concept album from 7 to 10 p.m. Dec. 14 at the Canby Wedding Chapel and Concert Hall, 508 N.W. Third Ave., Canby. The performance is a glimpse back to the turn of the century through the eyes of a brother and sister growing up in Portland, Oregon. Journey with them through vivid musical compositions as they overcome the allure of illicit living, bootlegging, prostitution and an abusive father. Lewis & Clark presenting electronic, jazz concerts
Lewis & Clark College will present an Electronic Music Concert Dec. 10 at 7:30 p.m. in Evans Halls, featuring original student music with accompanying visuals in a wild variety of styles. The concert is free and open to all.
The Lewis & Clark Jazz Combos will present a evening of outstanding jazz music Dec. 11 at 7:30 p.m. in Evans Hall. Tickets are $10 general admission.
