NUNM to offer mixology classes

The National University of Natural Medicine will present herbal mixologist Glen Nagelfor a four-part series of workshops focused on blending botanicals into tasty tonics.

Melding the ancient world of botanical medicine with that of the modern bar mixologist, the series develops a flavorful and healing balance between tinctures of the past and cocktails loaded with sugar at your local bar.

All sessions include lecture and hands-on components. Participants will leave with samples and recipes to take home. Those attending all four sessions will receive a micro credential in herbal mixology.

Classes are held from 6 to 9 p.m. at the university campus, 049 S.W. Porter St., Portland.

The schedule includes: Hot Toddies, Mulled Wines and Heated Herbal Spirits on Jan. 24; Bitters, Digestives and Apertifs on Feb. 21; Liqueurs and Cordials on March 21 and Herbal Root Beers on April 25.
