Christ Church presents Tea & Spirits with Lady Bird

The public is invited to attend Tea & Spirits with Lady Bird Johnson, featuring Virginia Kincaid as Lady Bird from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Saturday April 27 at Christ Church Parish, 1060 Chandler Road in Lake Oswego. Oregon Repertory Singers to present music of Arvo Part

For the final program of its 45th season, Oregon Repertory Singers will present a full program of the music of Arvo Part. Claiming the title of most performed living composer in the world since 2010, Part is known for using simple musical triads that recall the sound of bells. The Estonian-born composer calls this style "tintinnabuli," Latin for bells.

The concert, titled "White Light: The Music of Arvo Party," celebrates Oregon Repertory Singers' long history with Part as the first American choir to record his music back in 1993.

The concert takes place at 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, April 27 and 28 at First United Methodist Church, 1838 SW Jefferson St., Portland OR 97201. Tickets range in price from $20 to $40 and can be purchased online at orswhitelight.browpapertickets.com. Call 503-230-0652 for more information.

WLHS to present Voices from the Past

The West Linn Historical Society will present Voices from the Past featuring McLoughlin and Moore, a world premiere play by Roger Shepherd at 7 p.m. May 11 at Sunset Fire Hall, 2215 Long St., West Linn. Presented as a staged reading, the play focuses on Dr. John McLoughlin, founder of Oregon City who was best known as the Father of Oregon; and Major Robert Moore, creator of Linn City, the predecessor of West Linn.

Lakeridge alumna releases new cocktail book

Maggie Hoffman, who graduated from Lakeridge High School in 2000, has released "Batch Cocktails, Make-Ahead Pitcher Drinks for Every Occasion."

Hoffman is the author of "The One-Bottle Cocktail: More than 80 Recipes with Fresh Ingredients and a Single Spirit," and a frequent contributor to the San Francisco Chronicle. She founded Serious Eats: Drinks, the cocktail, beer and wine section of the James Beard Award-winning website Serious eats in 2011. Her writing has appeared in Food & Wine, Wine Enthusiast, Sunset and more.

The book sells for $19.99 and is available at book retailers everywhere and Amazon.com.

Meet Rojo and Napolean at The Windward

All are invited to meet Rojo and Napolean, the celebrity llama and alpaca duo and their friends Om Nom and Nibbles the Nigerian dwarf goats at The Windward from 1-3 p.m. Sunday, April 28.
