Portland Ballet to present 'Current/Classic'

The Portland Ballet will present "Current/Classic" May 10 and 11 in a mixed-repertoire program of contemporary and classical pieces that showcase the academy's advanced company dancers.
The bill includes Balanchine's iconic "Serenade," "Swan Lake Act II," Tom Gold's "Festival Russe," the visually stunning "Rip/Tide" by the founders of BodyVox, and "Quinary," a brand new work by Ballet Master Jason Davis.
Five dancers from Lake Oswego will perform in the production, including
n Poppy Coleman, a freshman at Lake Oswego High School, who is in her eighth year dancing at TPB. She has attended summer programs at The School of American Ballet, School of Oregon Ballet Theatre, The Portland Ballet and Pacific Northwest Ballet.
n Dani Hubin, a freshman at Oregon Connections Academy, who is in her fifth year at TPB. She has attended summer programs at Houston Ballet and The Portland Ballet.
n Elliana Kirk, a sophomore at Calvary Online School, who is in her third year at TPB. She has attended summer programs at The Portland Ballet and Pacific Northwest Ballet.
n Hana Mandelbaum, an eighth-grader at Oregon Connections Academy, who is in her eighth year at TPB. She has attended summer programs at TPB.
n Tegan Mansell, a freshman at Lakeridge High School, is in her first year with TPB. She has attended summer programs at School of Oregon Ballet Theatre and Dance Masters of America.
