West Linn Lutheran Church invites all to attend an artist reception Sunday, Aug. 4 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. to open a new art exhibit in its Creative Spirit Gallery

Local Color, a West Linn-based critique group of painters and photographer Natalie Van Schaik are exhibiting art in the Creative Spirit Gallery within West Linn Lutheran Church, 20390 Willamette Drive, West Linn, through September.

The artists involved with Local Color say their backgrounds may vary but what unites them is their love of color and the challenge of painting. Artists in the group include Amanda James, Donna Zenobia-Saffir, Ron Spears, Judy Robison, Cathy Cramer, Jean Dupre, Becky Meier, Tricia Peters, Pat (Miller) Farr and Kathy Sandell.

Van Schaik will be exhibiting photographs taken of her native home of South Africa; she specializes in portraits, landscape and nature photography.

An opening reception will be held Sunday, Aug. 4 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.

An artists reception will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Aug. 17.

Gallery hours are Tuesday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday mornings.
