Artwork runs gamut at Painters Showcase
For The Review, Tidings
The 46th annual Painters Showcase will be held Aug. 23 through 25 at the Grand Hotel at Bridgeport, located at 7265 Hazel Fern Road in Tigard.
The art exhibit and sale features the works of 25 Portland area artists in a variety of media including oil, acrylic, watercolor and pastel paintings, drawings, etchings, impressionistic and abstract art depicting a wide range of subjects.
Kay Allenbaugh of Lake Oswego is one of the artists included in the showing.
"While I paint I focus on my mission to bring beauty into the world that did not exist there before," she said. "The joy I experience as I paint is similar to the pleasure I enjoyed of the national bestselling book series 'Chocolate for a Woman's Soul.' Inspiration feeds my soul, whether for art or books."
The show and sale is from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Aug. 23-24, and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 25. Receptions to meet the artists will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
The artists have created special art for Artists for Animals, original 8-inch by 10-inch paintings which sell for $75 each, with proceeds donated to Oregon Humane Society.
Admission to Painters Showcase is free and parking is also free.
