Nightly through Jan. 1 (4-9 p.m.) — Take a walk through Maddax Woods, 5785 River St., West Linn. This is the 16th year the woods have been illuminated with colored lights. Free and open to all.

Nov. 28 (5 to 7 p.m.) — Artists' reception at Rain Spark Gallery, located at 310 State St., suite 108 in Lake View Village in Lake Oswego. The gallery features art work made by local artists in all mediums. Receptions are held each Thursday. The gallery is open 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Nov. 29 (5:30 p.m.) —Join thousands of Portlanders in a joyful and festival sing-a-long led by Thomas Lauderdale and members of Pink Martini and a collection of Portland musicians at the 35th annual Tree Lighting ceremony at Portland's Pioneer Courthouse Square, 701 SW 6th Ave. and Broadway between Morrison and Yamhill streets. Nov. 29, 30, Dec. 1 — Don't miss The Portland Ballet's world premiere of "Petrushka" and "Firebird" at Portland State University's Lincoln Hall, 1620 SW Market, Portland. Dec. 1 (2 p.m.) — Connections Concert Series presents PULSE featuring Joe Kye, Niema Lightseed and Sophie Lippert at the Old Church, 1422 SW 11th Ave., Portland. Kye is a violinist-looper and vocalist; Lightseed is a spoken-word artist and Lippert is a concert pianist with Olympia Symphony and Seattle Philharmonic and founder of the concert series. General admission tickets are $20, VIP tickets with reserved seating and swag bag are $45. Purchase online at connectionspulse.eventbrite.com. Connections Concert Series is Portland's innovative multi-cultural concert experience featuring the area's finest classical, jazz, world, folk and pop musicians. The concerts are dedicated to using music as a conduit for inclusivity, community and collaboration.
Dec. 4 (11 a.m. to 4 p.m.) — Attend Oswego Heritage House and Museum's holiday open house and marketplace. Shop a wide variety of handmade gifts including art, textiles, cookbooks, baked goods and more. Free.
