Tired of your art? Recycle it through ARTmart
The Arts Council of Lake Oswego is preparing for its annual ARTmart, which will open Jan. 3 and continue through the month. An opening reception will be held from 5-7 p.m. Jan. 3, and the closing reception, ARTmart after Dark, will be held from 5-7 p.m. Jan. 31. All events and the sale take place at the Arts Council offices located at 520 First St., Lake Oswego.
ARTmart gives all an opportunity to clear out your art collection and collectibles, donate them to the Arts Council, then replace them with new treasures purchased from the ARTmart donations. Proceeds from the event benefit the Arts Council's education and outreach programs.
Donations are being accepted now through Jan. 14, Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Bring paintings, drawings, frames, sculptures, prints, ceramics, quilts and other fiber art, photographs, posters, mixed media and more. Arts Council staff will accept donations in good condition.
The public is invited to shop the ARTmart collection Tuesday through Saturday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Arts Council will continue its popular Drink & Draw education series Jan. 23, from 6-8 p.m. SCRAP PDX Instructor Sarah Dooley will lead participants through making a personal shrine from recycled art, giving new meaning to materials which once had a different use.
Registration fee is $60 per person, which includes all materials, snacks and beverages. Register online at artscouncillo.org.
