Student-organized LOchella Music Festival fills Foothills Park in Lake Oswego with five hours of music

LOchella, an outdoor music festival organized by Lake Oswego and Lakeridge high school students, brought music lovers young and old to Foothills Park on Sunday. After a cloudy week, bright sunshine warmed musicians and audience members alike throughout the five-hour concert.

The second-annual festival featured a lineup of 20 student bands or individual performers from both high schools. Teens dominated the audience, but there were many older community members in attendance to support the students and enjoy a day in the park.

LOchella organizers say the event was a great success, and that it gets better every year.

"It was so fun. It just had this great summer vibe," says Lakeridge student Stuart Allen, who played guitar at LOchella with his band, Bangers and Mash.

"It really is a blast," says LOchella organizer and Lakeridge student Barbara Roehm. "It's a great way to kick off the summer."
