Lake Oswego students earn honors and diplomas at universities across the country

Lake Oswego students graduate from Baylor University

Baylor University presented degrees to nearly 3,000 graduates during spring commencement exercises May 17-18, in the Ferrell Center on the Baylor campus.

Four students from Lake Oswego were among those graduates. Jennifer Marie Chandler, earned a Bachelor of Business Administration, Marketing, Entrepreneurship and Corporate Innovation with cum laude honors. Grace Margaret Creps earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Emma Kathryn Davis earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication. Tristan Briggs Post earned Bachelor of Science in Biology with magna cum laude distinction.

Lakeridge graduate studies abroad

Nick Eaton of Lake Oswego participated in the Bates College Junior Semester Abroad program. Eaton, a 2016 graduate of Lakeridge High School, studied in New Zealand through University of Otago, Dunedin. Eaton is majoring in art and visual culture and economics at Bates.

Sixty percent of Bates students elect to study abroad through the college's Center for Global Education. Bates' nationally recognized international education program offers access to academically rigorous and culturally enriching programs in more than 60 countries.

Students named to Gonzaga President's, Dean's Lists

The following Lake Oswego students have earned placement on the Gonzaga University President's List for spring semester 2019. Students must earn a 3.85 to 4.0 grade-point average to be listed. Jillian Coleman, Ryan Mandel, Christina Miller, Ann Monroe, Blake Tarbell and Brennan Watkins.

To earn a spot on the President's List, students must earn a 3.5 to 3.84 grade-point average.

The following Lake Oswego students received that honor: Spencer Curzon, Kathryn Day, Jessica Gardner, Kevin Jung, Austin Maack, Cameron Nicklos, Evan Sklar.

Lake Oswego student graduates from Muhlenberg

Muhlenberg College celebrated its 171st Commencement on May 19, 2019. During the ceremony, which was held on the College Green, 502 students were awarded their undergraduate degrees.

Blake Peebles of Lake Oswego graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre.

The College also conferred honorary degrees to Commencement speaker author and attorney Scott Turow as well as former Deputy Secretary of the U.S. Department of the Treasury Sarah Bloom Raskin and chief of the Wills Eye Pediatric Ophthalmology and Ocular Genetics Service Dr. Alex Levin '78.

Elovitz named to Simmons University Dean's List

Maude Elovitz of Lake Oswego was named to the 2019 spring semester dean's list at Simmons University in Boston.

To qualify for dean's list status, undergraduate students must obtain a grade point average of 3.5 or higher, based on 12 or more credit hours of work in classes using the letter grade system.
