High school winter musicals, Foundation meet and greets, Superintendent listening sessions

Superintendent holding listening sessions

The superintendent wants to hear from you. Dr. Lora de la Cruz will be holding parent listening sessions to get to know you and to hear your perspective on any topic you'd like to share. Four sessions will be held across the district with each night dedicated to specific schools. If you are unable to attend your school's listening session, you are welcome to attend a session that is more convenient. Listening sessions will be held as follows:

— Monday, Oct. 28: 6-7 p.m. at Lakeridge High School in the library. The target audience for this session is: Lakeridge High School, Lakeridge Middle School, Hallinan Elementary.

— Tuesday, Oct. 29: 6-7 p.m. a Lake Oswego High School in the library. The target audience is Lake Oswego High School, Forest Hills Elementary, Lake Grove Elementary.

— Wednesday, Oct. 30: 6-7 p.m. at River Grove Elementary in the library. The target audience is River Grove Elementary, Westridge Elementary.

— Tuesday, Nov. 5: 6-7 p.m. at Oak Creek Elementary @ Uplands in the gym. The target audience is Oak Creek Elementary, Lake Oswego Middle School.

Attend the final Foundation meet and greet event

Please join parents and guardians who are new to the district at the following Meet & Greet event hosted by the Lake Oswego Schools Foundation. This casual gatherings is an opportunity to meet others who are new while learning more about the district.

New Family Meet & Greet Happy Hour (Oregon Wine Reserve, 600 N State St.): Saturday, Nov. 2, 4-7 p.m. Event is for adults 21 years and older. Complimentary child care for children one year and older provided at PLAY Boutique, 4-7 p.m. (464 1st St., Lake Oswego).

Both district high schools open winter musicals Nov. 7

Come and enjoy the talented Lake Oswego High School drama cast and crew presenting the highly entertaining, Tony Award winning musical Chicago. LOHS will be performing the High School Edition of Chicago to ensure the production is more family friendly for all audiences.

Performances are Nov. 7, 9, 14 and 16 at 7 p.m. and Nov. 9 and 16 at 2 p.m. Doors open 30 minutes prior to the performance. All performances will be held in the LOHS auditorium.

The Lakeridge drama department invites you to their production of "Urinetown," a hilarious tale of greed, corruption, love and revolution in a time when water is worth its weight in gold. In a Gotham-like city, a terrible water shortage, caused by a twenty-year drought, has led to a government-enforced ban on private toilets. Performances will be held Nov. 7, 9, 14 and 16 at 7 p.m and Nov. 9 and 16 at 2 p.m. in the Lakeridge High School auditorium. Ticket prices range from $8-12. Tickets are available now at
