Oregon State Assessment Opt Out form available
Each year, students in Oregon take state assessments that provide schools with data which can be used to ensure that students are meeting learning goals and staying on track.
A form is available from the Oregon Department of Education that allows you to opt your child out of the math and English Language Arts assessments for the 2019-20 school year. If you want to opt out your child, fill out the form and submit it to the main office at your child's school. Submission deadline is Jan. 1, 2020. Meeting this deadline will help your child's school with planning and preparation.
If you have questions or want more information about state assessments, contact your child's principal or teacher(s).
