Hunger fighters seek donations, Foundation gala, SASEE award dinner, Safety Symposium

Averi Basso named to Fort Lewis dean's list

Averi Basso, of Lake Oswego, OR, was named to Fort Lewis College's dean's list for the fall 2019 semester. Basso's major is Psychology.To be eligible for dean's list, a student must carry a semester GPA of 3.6 or better in no fewer than 15 credit hours of graded college level work and have completed all work for which they are registered by the end of the semester.

First Annual Foundation Gala

Save the date for the First Annual Foundation Gala. Hosted by the Lake Oswego Schools Foundation Board, this will be an evening of coming together to celebrate education in our community. This event will replace the luncheon held in previous years.

Hunger Fighters seek donations

Hunger Fighters Oregon, a nonprofit food pantry, is asking for donations. They accept all non-expired donations but a list of most-needed items is below:

Cereal

Canned peaches, pears and pineapple

Rice varieties

Pasta sauce and tomato sauce

Canned chicken

Condiments

Peanut butter and jam

Toothpaste and floss

Toilet paper and paper towels

Donations can be dropped off at 2301 Hazel Road from 1-3 p.m. on Saturdays, when the food pantry is open.

Board appointed committees seek members

Lake Oswego School District asks that you consider serving on one of the district and board-appointed advisory committees. As part of its efforts to increase communication with the public and to provide for citizen involvement, the School Board appoints advisory committees to consider matters of district-wide importance. Committees meet monthly, September through May.

Committee members are appointed to serve two-year terms, except SSPAC which is a three-year term. For terms beginning in June 2020, please complete and submit the attached application to the chair of the committee by Friday, April 3. Applications will be reviewed, and recommendations sent to the Board for appointments on Monday, April 27. Applicants will be notified by the following week.

First Annual LOSD Safety Symposium

All parents, guardians and community residents are invited to attend LOSD's first annual Safety Symposium which will give families critical information from professionals covering important safety measures in digital media, gun storage and e-cigarettes.

The event will be held Tuesday, Mar. 3, 2020 at 6 P.M. in the Lakeridge High School Auditorium

Foundation Accepting Board Applications

The Foundation is seeking parents/guardians, students and community residents to serve on its Board of Directors. Board members must demonstrate a commitment to the Foundation, LOSD and the Lake Oswego community.
