Hunger Fighters seek donations

Hunger Fighters Oregon, a nonprofit food pantry, is asking for donations. They accept all non-expired donations but a list of most-needed items is below:

Cereal

Canned peaches, pears and pineapple

Rice varieties

Pasta sauce and tomato sauce

Canned chicken

Condiments

Peanut butter and jam

Toothpaste and floss

Toilet paper and paper towels

Resources include a list of nearby food banks, a list of activities for school breaks, spring break bingo and a guide for talking with your kids about COVID-19

Clackamas County to hold K-8 poster contest

All Clackamas County students in kindergarten through the eighth grade are invited to submit artwork showing how fun it is to walk, bike and roll around your community. Safe Routes to Schools is looking for creative, hand-drawn original art using pencils, crayons, pens or paint. We want your art to highlight the fun and healthy benefits of getting to school without taking a car or bus. Make sure your art reflects safety laws, like wearing helmets and using crosswalks. Deadline to submit artwork is April 30, 2020. Winners will be chosen based on creativity and originality. Winners will receive gift cards. Board appointed committees seek members

Lake Oswego School District asks that you consider serving on one of the district and board-appointed advisory committees. As part of its efforts to increase communication with the public and to provide for citizen involvement, the School Board appoints advisory committees to consider matters of district-wide importance. Committees meet monthly, September through May.

Committee members are appointed to serve two-year terms, except SSPAC which is a three-year term. For terms beginning in June 2020, please complete and submit the attached application to the chair of the committee by Friday, April 3. Applications will be reviewed, and recommendations sent to the Board for appointments on Monday, April 27. Applicants will be notified by the following week.
