Local clothing closet expands services
I Love Lake Oswego, the secondhand clothing closet founded by Lake Oswego High School student Ella Fuentes last year, is now expanding its services to everyone in Lake Oswego.
Fuentes said the financial effects of the COVID-19 pandemic lead to the decision to cast a wider net of support.
"We've decided to open it up to the whole Lake Oswego community," Fuentes said. "Especially right now, (as) a lot of people are unemployed."
The idea for I Love Lake Oswego came about when Fuentes and her mom were volunteers at the clothing closet in the Tigard-Tualatin School District and realized Lake Oswego School District didn't have a clothing closet of its own.
"That pushed us to create one for ourselves," Fuentes said.
It was available to every LOSD student who needed it.
I Love Lake Oswego has an abundance of donations right now, so they won't be accepting new donations at this time. They're excited to use their overflow of donations to serve the community.
Just provide your clothing size and age and I Love Lake Oswego will do what they can to meet your needs
