Lake Oswego School District extends deadline for board apps
Those interested in the open Lake Oswego School Board position have a few more days to apply.
The school board will appoint a replacement for position 2, which was vacated when Board Chair Rob Wagner stepped down in May to focus on his work as the new Oregon Senate majority leader. On Tuesday, the school district announced that the application deadline was extended to Friday, June 12, at 4 p.m.
"Finalist interviews will be conducted the evening of Monday, June 15, and an appointment will be announced at the board meeting on Monday, June 22," LOSD Director of Communications Mary Kay Larson said in an email.
The school board will also appoint a new chair for the 2020-21 school year.
Pending possible reelection, the person appointed to the position will serve through the 2020-21 school year, as Wagner's four-year term ends in May 2021.
