Students received the devices and textbooks they'll need for distance learning

Lake Oswego students gear up for fall

Back-to-school preparations look a little different this year. With that in mind, the Lake Oswego School District has scheduled device pick-up days so students have everything they need to start the new year from home.

Devices, textbooks and other materials were all distributed through the district's drive-thru system. All participants were required to wear face coverings.

Students in kindergarten through second grade received iPads for online learning. Students in third through twelfth grade receive Chromebooks. WiFi hotspots were also provided for students who signed up for them.

Families were encouraged to use a school-issued device instead of a personal device because all the necessary applications and e-books were pre-loaded onto each device.

The district is also offering an optional technology protection plan. The fee is $20 per student, with a family maximum of $60. Visit the district website for more information about the plan and the available fee waiver.
