Although the City of Lake Oswego has been lifted from Level 1 wildfire alert, many teachers and staff members remain under evacuation, leading the local school district to be more flexible with remote learning this week.
The district canceled school last Friday, Sept. 11, and Monday, Sept. 14.
Given that many teachers and staff are still in flux, the district said Tuesday will be an asynchronous day of school as opposed to a live remote day, allowing for flexibility for teachers and families.
The district hopes to resume synchronous learning Wednesday, Sept. 16, with exceptions as needed.
The air quality in Lake Oswego remains hazardous.
LOSD facilities will remain closed to services such as meal service, extended care and facilities maintenance until the district can assess indoor air quality and air filtration systems.
