SASEE award nominations are open, committee for returning to in-person learning

SASEE nominations

The Rotary Club of Lake Oswego will present the annual Service Above Self: Educational Excellence (SASEE) awards early next year, which means nominations are now open.

The awards are given to students, educators and community members who stand out in their support and service of education in Lake Oswego schools.

Recipients receive "pay-it-forward" awards. Students and educators receive a $1,000 prize that they must donate to a charity, school or nonprofit of their choice. Community recipients receive a $3,000 scholarship in their name that will go to a graduating high school senior in Lake Oswego.

Applicants sought for 'return to in-person learning' panel

The Lake Oswego School District is forming an ad hoc committee regarding the district's return to in-person learning. LOSD plans to return to in-person learning when the health metrics allow it.

The committee's charge is to consider LOSD's plan for returning to in-person learning from the perspectives of students, families, teachers and staff and to advise the district on how to make a safe transition.
