QPR suicide prevention training for parents

Parents and guardians of middle and high school students are invited to join counselor and QPR Trainer Marcy Watts for a suicide prevention training called QPR.

QPR consists of these three skills:

— Question a person about suicide

— Persuade someone to get help

— Refer someone to the appropriate resource.

Parents and guardians will have two opportunities to attend the training. Sessions take place March 2 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 6-7:30 p.m.

Registration for the class is limited to 60 people.

Reach out to your school counselor and/or social worker with questions on the topic.

QPR requires that all participants have their cameras on at all times during this training. Due to the sensitive nature of the topic, we need to ensure the safety and well being of all attendees. Feel free to reach out to Marcy Watts if you have any questions or concerns about this at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

• Application deadline: 3:30 p.m. Friday, March 12

• Lottery date (if necessary): 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 17
