Race set for Lake Oswego School Board election
Three seats on the Lake Oswego School Board are open, with two incumbents running for reelection. Neelam Gupta, who was appointed to Position 2 by the board in June 2020, is running for reelection unopposed. Brian Bills is running unopposed for Position 3, which is currently held by outgoing board Chair Sara Pocklington. Incumbent Liz Hartman and candidate Jini Stupak will compete for Position 4.
The election will take place May 18 and ballots are slated to be mailed to voters April 28.
According to a filing application, Gupta works as the director of the Clinical Supports, Integration and Workforce Unit at Oregon Health Authority. Her background in local government includes serving as co-chair of the Lake Oswego School District Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Access Committee and a member of the Elementary Schools Task Force.
Bills is the CEO of Go Test USA, LLC, a company that distributes COVID-19 tests. Bills listed no prior experience in government.
Along with her current role as a school board member, Hartman is the executive director of the Lake Oswego Chamber of Commerce.
Stupak works with data entry at Moda Health. She's a Lakeridge High School graduate and listed no prior experience in government.
