On Wednesday, Oct 13, Lake Oswego School District Superintendent Jennifer Schiele sent out a letter to the community sharing that former student Jordan Taff, a 2021 Lake Oswego High School graduate, had died.
"Jordan was a beloved son, friend, student, and baseball and football player," Schiele said in the letter.
At LOHS, Taff was a three-sport athlete, participating on the school's wrestling, baseball and football teams. His love and skill for athletics scored him recruitment at Pacific Lutheran University in Parkland, Washington, where he was a football and baseball student-athlete.
"While I've only been the Athletic Director at PLU for a couple of months, I have already experienced the tremendous unity our community exemplifies. It is in these moments that we are truly called together to support and care for one another—as teams, as members of our department, and as Lutes," Mike Snyder, Pacific Lutheran University's director of athletics, said in a statement to the university's student body.
The Lake Oswego School District advises anyone who may need support at this time to access grief resources at www.losdschools.org/ or contact the 24/7 Clackamas County Crisis Support Line at 503-655-8585.
"Our condolences to the family and all in our community who are touched by this tragic loss of life," Schiele said.
