All City of Lake Oswego offices will be closed Monday for Martin Luther King Jr. Day

CITY OFFICES CLOSED (JAN. 15): All City offices — including the Library and the Adult Community Center — will be closed Monday in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. There are two exceptions: the municipal golf course will be open from 9 a.m.-6 p.m., and the tennis center will be open from 6 a.m.-10 p.m.

ALZHEIMER'S SUPPORT (JAN. 11): Family members and friends caring for older adults with memory problems due to Alzheimer's disease or related dementia are invited to a free caregivers support group meeting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Adult Community Center (505 G Ave.). The group is co-sponsored by the Alzheimer's Association and led by facilitator Vicki Vose.

ARTS & CRAFTS STUDIO (JAN. 13): On Saturday mornings, the focus is on art at the Lake Oswego Public Library (706 Fourth St.). Bring an art or craft project to work on, browse the library's collection of art and craft books, talk to other artists, explore art online or get technical help with projects and research techniques. Bring your own supplies or use the library's drawing supplies; no registration is required for the studio, which starts at 9 a.m.

LET'S GO FISHING (JAN. 15): With schools closed for Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the City's Parks & Recreation Department is sponsoring a fishing trip for kids ages 8-12 to a local stocked lake. Participants can bring their own pole or use equipment provided by Coyle Outside; everyone should bring lunch, snacks, waterproof shoes and raingear. The class ($77 for residents, $96 for nonresidents) will meet at 8:30 a.m. under the picnic shelter in Mary S. Young Park (19900 Willamette Drive in West Linn). For details, go to
