The D Avenue Project is underway, and construction is expected to last through the summer

D AVENUE PROJECT: Construction work is underway in the First Addition Neighborhood for the D Avenue Improvement Project, with crews installing storm lines and manholes in several locations. Work on the project - which will rebuild D Avenue between State and 10th streets, including substantial stormwater system improvements and a realignment to give the road a slightly meandering path — is expected to last through the summer. ALZHEIMER'S SUPPORT GROUP (MAY 17): A Caregivers Group designed for family members and friends caring for older adults with memory problems due to Alzheimer's disease or related dementia is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Adult Community Center (505 G Ave.). The free group is co-sponsored by the Alzheimer's Association and facilitated by Vicki Vose.

NEIGHBORHOOD SUMMIT (MAY 19): Mayor Kent Studebaker and the chairs of Lake Oswego's neighborhood associations will meet at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at City Hall (380 A Ave.). The public is invited to attend.

FARMERS MARKET (MAY 19): The Lake Oswego Farmers Market returns to Millennium Plaza Park on Saturday, with more than 80 vendors offering fresh fruits, vegetables, meat, cheeses, baked goods, hot foods, artisan products and nursery items. Live music, too. Hours are 8:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.

SPRINGBROOK PARK (MAY 19): Join the Friends of Springbrook Park from 9-11 a.m. Saturday as they free the trees and clear the ground of invasive species. Volunteers should wear long pants and closed-toe shoes and bring gloves and water to drink. Parking is available at Uplands Elementary School (2055 Wembley Park Road).
