SLIDESHOW: A feast for the senses
Bright sunshine and a kaleidoscope of colors welcomed hundreds of visitors to opening day at the Lake Oswego Farmers Market on Saturday.
There were golden-brown baked goods, deep-green veggies, bright-red strawberries, flowers in every hue and more to see — cheeses, jams and jellies, meats and seafood, nursery items, flowers and more filled the booths of more than 80 vendors.
Ears, noses and hands were kept busy, too.
The smell of hot coffee, homemade cinnamon rolls, tempting French crepes, Greek gyros and more — Did we mention the plate-size breakfast burritos? — tempted hungry shoppers. A Kids Corner kept little hands busy with arts and crafts. And the popular country-rock group Southern Nights put it all to music.
Now in its 18th season, the market will delight the senses every Saturday from 8:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. through mid-October in Millennium Plaza Park (200 First St. in Lake Oswego). For more information about the market, visit www.ci.oswego.or.us/lofm.
