BLOOD DRIVE (JUNE 1): Lake Oswego residents can save a life by donating blood between 9 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Friday at City Hall (380 A Ave.). Walk-ins are welcome, but you can avoid a long wait by scheduling an appointment online at (use sponsor code "LOCityHall") or by calling 1-800-RED-CROSS.

PARKS BOARD (JUNE 1): The Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources Advisory Board will hold a work session to discuss park projects and funding from 9 a.m.-noon at the Lake Oswego Maintenance Center (17601 Pilkington Road). For more information, go to

FARMERS MARKET (JUNE 2): The Lake Oswego Farmers Market returns to Millennium Plaza Park (200 First St.) on Saturday, with more than 80 vendors offering fresh fruits, vegetables, meat, cheeses, baked goods, hot foods, artisan products and nursery items. Live music, too. Hours are 8:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.

TREE PRUNING WORKSHOP (JUNE 2): Learn how to prune to develop healthy, strong, and attractive trees and shrubs from 10 a.m.-noon Saturday in a free, hands-on workshop led by ISA Board Certified Master Arborist Damon Schrosk of Treecology Inc. Schrosk will talk about pruning types, proper cutting tools and techniques, and tree responses to pruning. Bring pruning tools if you have them to Foothills Park (199 Foothills Road) and wear appropriate clothing for working outside. Refreshments will be provided.
