Lake Oswego Police headed to the roof to help Special Olympics athletes
Lake Oswego Police officers will climb to new heights Friday to help raise funds for Special Olympics at an event they're calling "Police on the Pantry."
From 7-9:30 a.m. and again from 3-5:30 p.m. on Friday, June 1, LOPD officers will be on the roof of the Plaid Pantry at the corner of Jean and Pilkington roads (17790 Pilkington Road, Lake Oswego). The goal: to collect donations that will directly support Special Olympics athletes in Oregon as they prepare for competition.
The event is also taking place at 10 other Plaid Pantry stores in Portland and Salem; folks who make a minimum $5 donation will receive a special thank-you from Plaid Pantry.
In addition, all 108 of the company's stores in Oregon are selling icons for $1 each in support of Police on the Pantry. Learn more at www.soor.org.
