Respond to Racism, a grassroots organization dedicated to fostering a communitywide discussion about racism and discrimination in Lake Oswego, will host a screening of the film "Color of Fear" on Sept. 5 in lieu of the group's regular monthly meeting.

In the groundbreaking documentary, director Lee Mun Wah brings together eight men of various ethnicities for a dialogue about the state of race relations in America as seen through their eyes. The exchanges are heartfelt, thought-provoking and occasionally dramatic, and they shine a clear light on the pain caused by racism in North America.

The screening is set for 6:30-9:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 5, at Lake Oswego High School (2501 Country Club Road). Organizers say they have allowed plenty of time for discussion after the film.
