8/29/18 A man being transported to a medical appointment told police that his driver had seen a neighbor go into his backyard and take a bicycle belonging to a former roommate. He promised to file an official report once he returned from his appointment.

8/30/18 1:15 p.m. Thieves drilled the lock on a company van parked in a downtown lot and stole a variety of tools.

8/30/18 6:27 p.m. A backpack and laptop computer were stolen by thieves who smashed the driver's side window of a blue Toyota Sienna on Kruse Oaks Drive.

8/31/18 10:07 a.m. Miscellaneous items were reported stolen from a Volkswagen Jetta on McEwan Road.

9/2/18 6:39 p.m. Someone broke into a housekeeper's car and stole unspecified items while she was working inside a building on Kruse Oaks Drive.

9/3/18 12:25 p.m. Two pocketbooks were stolen from a parked car at George Rogers Park.


8/29/18 10:32 a.m. Burglars reportedly broke into a home on Kingsgate Road and took $1,500 in cash from a bedroom. A patio door to the bedroom was unlocked, the home's occupant told police.


8/31/18 2:42 p.m. A blue 1984 Ford Ranger was reported stolen sometime overnight on Kingsgate Road.


8/29/18 6:07 p.m. After a caller's mom sold furniture on Craigslist, she received a package that was supposed to contain payment in the form of a check. She didn't open the package, though, and no one came for the furniture, prompting a call to police about what looked to be some kind of scam.

8/30/18 9:12 a.m. A caller bought, activated and sent iTunes cards worth $700 to someone they now believe was a scammer.

8/30/18 11:02 a.m. A Lake Oswego resident's bank account was frozen after someone tried to gain access and open a line of credit online.

8/30/18 12:20 p.m. In what appeared to be yet another scam involving Craigslist, a man told police that a buyer sent him a check for $1,500 for a dryer he was selling and asked him to refund the amount in excess of the sales price. The seller called police instead.

8/31/18 10:07 a.m. A resident of Singapore told police he had shipped three pocket knives to a Lake Oswego man and paid to have them repaired, only to have the handyman refuse to send the knives back.

8/31/18 12:57 p.m. An elderly woman told police her computer and email account had been hacked in what she now believes was a tech-support scam. The fraudsters asked her to pay with a gift card; she said, but she did not.


8/27/18 2:19 p.m. A sympathetic animal lover called police after seeing a woman dressed in a T-shirt and jean shorts yelling at her dog near Third Street and Evergreen Road and telling the poor pooch that everything it did was wrong.

8/27/18 5:21 p.m. The red bundle spotted down an embankment near Old River Road and Glenmorrie Drive looked about the same size as a baby, prompting an alarmed passerby to call police. Responding officers determined that it was just a towel, however, and that it had been there for a while.

8/28/18 10:36 a.m. Members of a local athletic club have been ignoring posted park hours and holding early morning workouts in George Rogers Park on Tuesdays and Wednesdays for the past five weeks, according to an anonymous tipster. The loud workouts apparently start as early as 5:15 a.m. and include runs up and down nearby Wilbur Street.

8/28/18 11:01 a.m. A local resident walked into City Hall and told officers he had firearms in his car that he'd like to turn in and have destroyed.

n 8/28/18 11:42 a.m. After a woman sold her car and money was exchanged, the excited buyer left with the vehicle before the seller wanted him to. Turns out she still had belongings in the car, she told police, and now she doesn't know how to get them back.

8/28/18 4:08 p.m. A worried mom told police that a transient has been camping near Stampher Road and heckling her kids when they walk to the school bus. He usually shows up at night, she said, and leaves in the morning.

8/28/18 9:35 p.m. A week and a half ago, a man told his then-girlfriend she could move in with him, and she did. Now he wants her to move out, she won't, and he's not sure what to do. Officers offered advice and options.

8/29/18 9:14 a.m. A homeless woman appeared to be sleeping in a van next to a home on Laurel Street, a neighbor told police. A sick man lives in the home, the caller said, and she's worried that the alleged transient is taking advantage of him.

8/29/18 1:22 p.m. A woman told police she had received a harassing text message and wondered if that was a crime. She was advised to block the number and ignore the incident. A couple of hours later, another woman found a message on her answering machine that only said "Die." She called the number back, she told police, but there was no answer.

8/29/18 4:29 p.m. Tires were slashed and a 2003 BMW was keyed on Foothills Drive.

8/30/18 9:28 a.m. Flaggers at Bonita Road and Carman Drive weren't doing their job very well, an aggravated caller told police. Traffic hadn't budged in more than 10 minutes, she said.

8/30/18 1:42 p.m. A vandal used lipstick to draw on a picture hanging in the BP John building at Marylhurst University. Everything had been cleaned up, a school official said, but they had photos of the mess to show officers.

8/30/18 1:45 p.m. In what appears to be an ongoing problem, two men were spotted smoking marijuana and cigarettes in a car parked in front of a cellphone store on South State Street. The problem, a caller said, is that the smoke and smell wafts into a nearby salon and tutoring center; when she asked the men to move away, she said, they simply swore at her. One of the men appeared to be in his 40s, was bald and had lots of tattoos. The other man was younger, had dark hair and was leaner than his compatriot. Both were seen passing a glass pipe.

8/30/18 5:35 p.m. Someone abandoned a shopping cart in the middle of C Avenue. A responding officer removed it.

8/30/18 7:42 p.m. A woman told police she was too afraid to open the door for a "creepy" man who was going door to door on Auburn Court, knocking and ringing doorbells. The thin man, who appeared to be about 5-feet-9 inches tall, was carrying a backpack, the caller said.

8/31/18 8:10 a.m. A neighbor asked for extra police patrols on Wembley Park Road and Uplands Drive after seeing teen drivers speeding and texting while driving.

8/31/18 8:48 a.m. After seeing photos of a man mishandling cats on Instagram, a concerned caller asked police to investigate what she suspected was animal abuse. The caller wasn't sure if the suspect lives in Lake Oswego or not, although she thinks he might be a teenager she's seen before.

8/31/18 12:07 p.m. A motorist told police that a goateed man in his 50s threw apples at her car as she drove past him on Heritage Lane. When she confronted him, the driver said, the man accused her of running a stop sign.

8/31/18 2:14 p.m. A passerby called police after spotting a burgundy Harley with a handgun in its holster in a parkling lot on B Avenue. The motorcycle had been there for at least an hour, the caller said, and the weapon was accessible to anyone who walked by.

8/31/18 3:24 p.m. Two young children had been left alone in a car at a shopping center on Monroe Parkway, a caller told police, and one of them was crying.

8/31/18 9:06 p.m. A man dressed in a bulletproof vest and carrying a gun was reportedly standing near the corner of Knaus Road and Hood View Lane, asking passing motorists for a jumpstart.
