City realigning intersection of Lakeview Boulevard and Jean Road to improve safety

As construction season continues to ramp up, Lake Oswego drivers can expect a 24/7 road closure on Lakeview Boulevard between Belmore Avenue and Jean Road, beginning Monday, May 6.

There will be a detour through that section of Lakeview, according to the City. The closure is expected to last about a month as the City works to realign the intersection of Lakeview and Jean, shifting from a 45-degree turn to a 90-degree one to improve safety at the three-leg intersection.

Construction began in April and is expected to last a total of about four months. Jean Road will remain open, with the possibility of some single-lane closures.

The City Council approved the project in June 2016. Beyond the change in the intersection angle, public improvements to the intersection include curbs and gutters on both sides, a sidewalk on the north/west end of Lakeview, pedestrian ramps at the intersection and driveway reconstruction. A stormwater pond will also be built.
