Looking to make some last-minute plans for tonight?

The Lake Oswego Youth Leadership Council is hosting the second-annual LO Speaks event tonight from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at The Lake Theater. Admission is free and snacks and drinks will be available for purchase.

The event, which was organized entirely by the students in the YLC, features five guest speakers who will each present for about 10 minutes before the floor opens up for a question-and-answer forum with all five speakers. LO Speaks will feature five guest speakers, each sharing little-heard stories.

"The general theme is the same as last year, which is 'untold stories,'" said Jenny Slepian, City staff liaison for the YLC. "So there's a variety of topics they're each talking about, but each bring something unique."

The speakers — Zachary Aghdaei, Sadie Fashana, Brady Breeze, Jaxon Rotan and Mike Cassidy — will cover topics ranging from moving to Lake Oswego from Ethiopia to growing up with an incarcerated parent.

"(The YLC members) wanted to try and find people either living in or working in Lake Oswego who come from a background or have a story to tell that you might not have heard before," Slepian said.
