AFC to open 5th clinic in Oregon City
American Family Care (AFC) Portland has broken ground on a fifth Portland area clinic to be located in Oregon City, opening summer 2019.
"This region of Clackamas County (West Linn and Oregon City) have limited urgent care options," said Dan Reese, AFC director of sales and marketing. "AFC's new clinic will be open seven days a week, accept dozens of insurance plans and have twice the exam room capacity of a typical Portland area AFC clinic. The clinic will also serve a broad base of occupational health services to local businesses in the area like pre-employment physicals, drug screens and worker injury claims."
The firm offers immediate and preventive healthcare needs, and seeks out underserved health care markets. Walk-ins are welcome, and all but two health care carriers (Kaiser Permanente and Providence Health Plan) allow patients to use the centers.
Based in Alabama, the 37-year-old urgent and primary care group currently has locations in Lake Oswego, northwest and northeast Portland and Beaverton. In the eight years it has operated in Oregon it has logged over 200,000 patient visits.
"We are fortunate to work with dozens of Fortune 500 companies but we also work with hundreds of local businesses," said Dan Reese, sales and marketing VP at AFC Urgent Care.
Managing Partner is Guru Sankar, a veteran of Intel and Ford Motor Company with engineering, technology and business background.
Sankar and his clinical team provide urgent care on a walk-in basis as well as appointments. The AFC Portland clinics also provide a variety of other services like occupational health services for businesses, accessible primary care, treatment for on-the-job injuries, travel vaccines as well as a multitude of other services.
"We also offer sports physicals and immigration physicals and vaccines," said Sankar. "Those who are getting ready to travel can get their travel vaccines here too — no appointment necessary." The
