Former Zupan's Market employee accused of stealing $40,000
The Clackamas County District Attorney is seeking to convict Tanner J. Cole, 39, of Lake Oswego, with one felony count of aggravated theft in the first degree and two counts of theft in the first degree for allegedly stealing money from Zupan's Market in Lake Grove where he worked.
According Clackamas County Chief Deputy District Attorney Chris Owen, Cole is alleged to have stolen approximately $40,000 from Zupan's. Court documents show that this alleged criminal activity took place between on multiple occasions between Sept. 1, 2017 and March 11, 2019.
Cole was arraigned March 19 but released on consideration. He will enter a plea with Judge Ulanda Watkins in Clackamas County Circuit Court next Friday, May 17.
According to Oregon court records, Cole was convicted of two prior felony theft charges in Washington County in 2008 and 2013.
Zupan's Markets CEO Mike Zupan confirmed Tuesday that Cole was an employee of their Lake Grove location, but couldn't comment further do to the case status as an ongoing investigation within the district attorney's office.
