Every Wednesday, we'll whet your police log appetite with the week's best entries.

The Lake Oswego police log is, shall we say, rather popular. We even made a book out of it a few years ago, and people still come into the office in search of a copy.

So with that in mind, we present the Bite-Sized Blotter — a Wednesday sneak peek at the week's calls before the whole log posts Thursday:

5/11 1:43 a.m. A "really loud TV" was reported in an apartment near the 10 block of Jefferson Parkway.

5/11 8:12 a.m. A caller said he needed to be at the Lake Theater by 10:30 and wondered about the best route given the Lake Run. An officer told him things should be winding down by then, but he wanted to talk about it more.

5/14 8:27 a.m. A caller asked if it was OK for dogs to chase ducks and geese, and also wondered about the size of the dog population in Lake Oswego. The caller also asked if it was possible to create a tiered city dog license to limit the amount a dog can be outside and use the bathroom in parks.

5/15 12:31 p.m. A caller said people were cutting down trees near Kruse Way and Mercantile Drive. When told that it was part of construction work, the caller said "I thought Lake Oswego cared about trees" and hung up.
