Intersection at Bryant Road will be closed from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. starting tonight

COURTESY PHOTO - Crews are expected to work through the night Friday, beginning at 8 p.m., to repair the sewer line. After City staff performed a routine maintenance check, they encountered a broken mainline at the intersection of Boones Ferry Road and Bryant road late morning Nov. 22.

The intersection will be closed from 8 p.m. tonight to 6 a.m. tomorrow morning.

"No sewage can go through it right now. It's completely backed up," said Phil Lawrence, utility wastewater superintendent, adding that the pipe is crushed and fluid cannot flow through properly.

A truck vacuumed the sewage out and dumped it at a drainage site to ensure customers did not encounter any issues.

"We are still investigating the cause. It is unknown at this stage if it is a direct result of the road project," said Katy Kerklaan, citizen information specialist. "The crews haven't hit the sewer or exposed it during any of their excavation work to date."
