Inspired by a viral video from Italy, The Stafford Boutique Retirement Community in Lake Oswego hosted open air live music for residents Friday, March 20, in an effort to entertain while complying with social distancing measures in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Larry Calame played music under a bright spring sun while residents watched either from their patios or on chairs outside (each placed at least six feet apart).
"We're getting creative and adapting to giving our residents some fun things to do and still keep them safe," Marketing and Admissions Director Rita Segura said. "It was inspired by a video from Italy that went viral. An opera singer did this in his neighborhood and people opened up their windows to hear the beautiful music."
