The office remains in downtown and will be located in the new Beacon building.

PMG PHOTO: CLARA HOWELL - The Lake Oswego Chamber of Commerce is moving into the new Beacon building. The Lake Oswego Chamber of Commerce is moving locations — but don't worry, the new office will be within walking distance from its current space.

The chamber has occupied the current building at 459 3rd St. since 2009 and Hartman said the chamber decided to downsize and move to the Centrl Office in the Beacon building, 525 3rd St.

And yes, Centrl Office is spelled without an "a" and is completely separate from the Lake Oswego School District administration building, which is often referred to as Central Office, according to Liz Hartman, executive director of the chamber.

Hartman said the current location is quite large for one person and that the new office space will be more appropriate in size, while still offering "all the resources we need when we need them."

"Right now, we can't really meet in person and it looks like it's going to be months before we can," Hartman said.

She added that the new office is convenient and new technology in the meeting rooms is a bonus.

"It's all adaptable and has video conferencing available," said Hartman, adding that the current office has a pull down screen and projector so she calls it "updating and upgrading."

Hartman said she should be settled into her new space by Aug. 3 and is almost out of the current chamber building.

"We will keep the displays outside of the current location until the space is leased," she said.

The current building is available for lease and includes parking as well as "a great landlord," according to Hartman.

If people are interested in leasing the 1,600-square-foot building, they can call Hartman at 503-636-3634 for a viewing appointment.
