Police arrest Lake Oswego shooting suspect
Lake Oswego Police arrested Tigard resident Musa Mohammed Ibrahim, 20, Tuesday, Aug. 11, after an investigation surrounding a shooting at Roehr Park last month.
Ibrahim was arrested while in custody at the Multnomah County Jail for unrelated charges, according to police. He is now being held at the same jail for several charges related to the shooting, including attempted homicide, first degree assault, recklessly endangering another person and unlawful possession of a firearm, police officials said.
The arrest came after several weeks of investigation stemming from the incident that took place July 14. According to a press release issued b Lake Oswego Police Aug. 11, the suspect and victim were seen arguing with each other by witnesses.
"At the time of the shooting, there were numerous other people in the immediate area as well," the press release read.
The victim, who was not a Lake Oswego resident, was "seriously injured," according to the Aug. 11 release, but police said in late July that they were "recovering and doing well."
"We're glad that the hard work of our detectives in this case was able to result in this arrest," said Lake Oswego Police Sgt. Tom Hamann. "We're glad to move forward with the prosecution in the case and have a resolution for the victim."
