The library will resume services Friday, Feb. 19, using generator power until repairs are complete.

COURTESY PHOTO - The Lake Oswego Public Library will operate off generator power and will resume services Friday, Feb. 19.The Lake Oswego Public Library has been without power for days as a result from the recent snowstorm.

The facility had significant damage to its electrical connection to the power grid. According to the library's press release, it could be weeks until Portland General Electric can complete repairs. In the meantime, the facility is being cleared of fallen trees and electricians connected the building to generator power on Thursday morning. The library will resume services Friday, Feb. 19.

"Holds will not expire and due dates will be extended during this time, for the convenience of library members," the press release read. "Virtual library programs, including Lake Oswego Reads programs, will either continue as scheduled, or a notification will be posted online and sent to registered attendees if an event has to be postponed due to continued power or internet outages."

The library encouraged people to monitor its website or follow the library on social media for updates about services, events and hours. People can also call the library at 503-636-7628 Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 1-5 p.m.
