City of Lake Oswego is seeking to fill 36 volunteer positions and 22 alternate spots.

Community members looking to volunteer with the city of Lake of Oswego have an upcoming opportunity to apply for a position on one of the city's boards and commissions.

The city is seeking to fill 36 positions and 22 alternate spots on 12 boards or commissions. Applications opened April 15 and will remain open through May 31, with 15-minute virtual interviews taking place in June.

There are vacancies on boards or commissions including the Budget Committee, the Library Advisory Board, the Sustainability Advisory board and — new this year — the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Advisory Board. There are also positions for youth on some of the boards and commissions.

People can apply for more than one position but may only fill one position at a time. Terms will coincide with the fiscal year from July 1 through June 30. Positions on the Budget Committee and Planning Commission will be four-year terms.

"Lake Oswego is a safe, caring and respectful community — all are encouraged to apply," the city's website read.
