People are invited to the lunch buffet and wine raffle to honor the local service organization.

COURTESY LOGO - The Lake Oswego Lions Club is celebrating 75 years of service.The Lake Oswego Lions Club is inviting fellow community members to lunch next month.

The local service organization is celebrating its 75-year anniversary at Lakewood Center for the Arts, located at 368 S. State Street, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 16.

The lunch buffet is $40 per person and will include entertainment, a silent auction and a wine raffle.

"For those not familiar with us, the Lake Oswego Lions Club is one of 48,000 Lions Clubs in 200 countries. All clubs are groups of volunteers who are passionate about serving their communities, particularly in the areas of vision and hearing assistance, hunger relief, diabetes awareness, environment, and childhood cancer," read the Lions Club press release. "The LO Lions Club helps provide vision and hearing exams, eyeglasses, and hearing aids for people who cannot afford them."

The local club also helps with food drives for Lake Oswego's food pantry, Hunger Fighters Oregon, provides scholarships for seniors and helps screen students in kindergarten through sixth grade for vision issues.

People can reserve tickets by mailing their name, number of tickets, contact information and mailing address to Dale Rollins at 13205 SW Genesis Loop, Tigard, OR. 97223. Checks should be made payable to the Lake Oswego Lions Club.

The club is also seeking new members. It meets the first Tuesday every month from 11 a.m. to noon at Lakewood Center for the Arts and virtually the third Tuesday of every month from 7-8 p.m.
