After the Lake Oswego City Council declared October to be Lake Oswego Meals on Wheels Month during the Oct. 6 meeting. Businesses, including Harnish Properties, Tucci Restaurant, Five Spice Restaurant and Riccardo's Ristorante — along with 11 others — are matching donations received from customers at participating restaurants.

"Every year, Lake Oswego Meals on Wheels provides over 18,000 delicious, well-balanced meals to housebound seniors and disabled residents in Lake Oswego," the city's website read. "Along with each meal comes a friendly check-in for other possible needs."

By visiting one of nine participating restaurants during the month of October, like Deno's Pizzeria, Nicoletta's Table and Market Place or Jefe's Mexican Restaurant, people can add a donation when paying for a meal, and one of the local participating businesses will match the donation dollar-for-dollar.

If more restaurants want to participate, contact Lake Oswego Meals on Wheels Board member Lynn Brokaw at 503-481-3453. For more information on Meals on Wheels, visit the program's website.
