Environmental Learning Center will host $10 event on Saturday, Aug. 6, in Oregon City.

Clackamas Community College and Oregon City Public Works Department's class about wetlands on Aug. 6 is open to the public.

Class participants will learn what wetlands do, and area experts will share the benefits of wetlands and the plants that call them home. Presenters are professional wetland scientist John van Staveren and Natalie Balkam, a park ranger with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service at the Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge Complex.
