Residents living along Oswego Lake may have been perplexed this morning when they saw a hot air balloon hovering over their homes.

According to the Lake Oswego Fire Department, the two people flying the balloon flew down to touch the lake and then flew back up again and left — which the department said was a common practice for balloon riders. A resident worried that the balloon was headed for a crash into the lake and called the department. Lake Oswego fire sent its rescue team, but did not need to perform a rescue.
