Lakeridge breaks through for six runs in the sixth inning to take control on Monday

Johnston drove in runs on a double in the second inning and a double in the sixth. Lakeridge got on the board in the first inning when Cierra Speck's wild pitch allowed two runs to score.

The Pacers then tacked on six runs in the sixth inning to take control. The offensive firepower was led by Anika Bjornson, Rachel Mindt, Mackenzie Nelson and Johnston, who all knocked in runs during the rally.

Summer Mickey pitched six innings for Lakeridge, allowing six hits and two runs while striking out 11 and walking one.

Speck, meanwhile, allowed six hits and six runs over three innings, striking out three and walking none before giving way to relievers Kimmie Burks and Angelina Baseleon.

Lakeridge tallied 10 hits on the day, with Johnston and Kathryn Beeman collecting two hits each.
