The Titans come back from last year's runner-up finish to win for the first time

But the Titans fell short of glory and finished second to Jesuit by 14 points in 2017.

This year, West Salem broke through to win its first-ever Class 6A state championship, scoring 60 points to edge past second-place Tigard's 54 on Saturday at Hayward Field in Eugene

The rest of the state's top 10 teams included: Central Catholic 50; Jesuit 37; Tualatin 36; Oregon City 27; Benson 27; Roseburg 24; Sherwood 23.5; and Newberg 23 .
