In response, the Three Rivers League's best golfers walked off with all-league honors following their successful 2019 seasons.

In Lake Oswego, four boys golfers won berths on all-TRL teams, that group led by Lakeridge junior Aaron Buck, the Three Rivers League medalist — essentially the league's Player of the Year.

Buck earned his spot atop the TRL standings after averaging 75.8 shots per round over the regular season and two-day TRL district tournament.

Other highlights from Buck's year included: he won an individual berth to the Class 6A state tournament for the second straight year; he led the Pacers to fourth in the regular season and third at the Special District 2 Regional; He placed second individually in the Special District 2 Regional, and later, took 15th at state.

"What impresses me most about Aaron is his ability to perform under pressure," said Lakeridge coach Eric Antonini. "He has proved over and over that he can really turn it on when it matters most."

For Lake Oswego, the Lakers saw senior Michael Zhao earn a berth on the all-TRL first team, while fellow seniors Jacob Brumfield and Peter Bouchard both finished on the all-league second team.

Zhao won his spot by averaging 76.0 shots per round over the regular season and the two-day TRL district tournament. Zhao, Brumfield, Bouchard and their Laker teammates won the Three Rivers League championship by taking top honors in four of five regular-season tournaments, then winning one day of the district tournament and finishing second on the other.

During the regular season and district, Brumfield averaged 76.67 strokes per round to place sixth in the TRL, while Bouchard was close behind in seventh at 76.83.

Later, Lake Oswego went on to place fifth at state, with Brumfield finishing 11th, Zhao 24th and Bouchard 44th.

"Jacob had a solid showing to cap off his senior season being one shot off of a top-10 finish (at state)," said Lake Oswego coach Max Carter. "Brumfield, Peter Bouchard and Michael Zhao all showed great leadership as seniors and the program will miss having them."
